˜ OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE : Each week the Blue Binder holds dozens of ways you can get involved, participate, and support YOUR church. Can you sing in the choir, serve communion, be a liturgist, pray over the offering, help with Kid’s Club or Youth group, provide flowers for the altar, help with a coffee hour, or count the offering? WE NEED YOU! Sign up today!

˜BEGINNING WITH ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE: and continuing throughout Lent, Hart UCC (one block South on State Street) will be holding community evening meals and worship services, 6pm to 7:15.  Start this week and make it a habit to continue.

 

˜30 HOUR FAMINE:  Anyone in youth group is invited to attend this event to raise awareness and money for world hunger.  Drop off is Friday at 7pm. We’ll conclude Saturday with a big break-the-fast lunch. Pick up is at 1pm. Please see Becca or Anna if you have questions, or for details of the fast (like who should and shouldn’t fast, and what they should bring to the lock in!)

 

 

˜DONATIONS NEEDED:  Every 30 seconds, a child dies from  hunger or preventable disease.  You can help.  Donate to World Vision’s 30 Hour famine, and save a life.  See any of our teenagers to make your tax deductible gift. Help our kids learn the meaning of giving to others, bring clean water and food to a starving child, and be the hands and feet of Christ.

MEN’S GROUP MEETING IN OCEANA COUNTY:  Promise Seekers”, an accountability small group for men, has changed its meeting time to Thursdays from  at

 Hart United Methodist Worship center in the Library,

308 S. State Street, Hart. 

Men of all ages, who are interested in growing in their spiritual walk with the Lord and in encouraging other men to do the same, are invited to come, and bring a friend.  Those who have attended Promise Keepers, Cursillo, DeColores, the Emmaus Walk or similar weekends are all familiar with the need to encourage one another in our spiritual walk with the Lord.  The format of the hour includes sharing about our spiritual walk, a study of the Word, and prayer requests.  There is also a sharing of commitment to lead a more Christ-filled life in the week to come.  For more information contact John Huizing at 873-0418 or Jerry Thorne at 843-7572.

COME HANGOUT WITH SOME AMAZING KIDS! Please consider being a Kid’s Club volunteer, one Sunday between now and June, 12 to each Sunday. From crafts to worship, from movies to swimming, from bowling to service projects, Kid’s Club has a lot of fun, and we need your help! Please check out the blue binder for opportunities to spend some time with some great kids!

˜ CARDS FOR SALE : Please check out the UMW display in the fellowship hall the next time you need a card for any occasion. You can pick up one today and drop the change in the provided tin—you’ll save a trip to Hallmark and support a ministry at the same time!

˜ CRAFTY LADIES ARE LOOKING FOR ITEM DONATIONS : Items of interest are fabric to be used in prayer quilts and used cards & calendars to recycle. Their next gathering will be Feb. 21st @

˜POTLUCK & MOVIE NEXT SUNDAY:  Bring your favorite dish to share, your own table service, and a healthy appetite for our 4th Sunday Potluck, followed by a movie with Pastor Becca. This month’s movie is “The Grace Card.”

 

˜ARE YOU ABLE TO VISIT THE SICK? If so, this is the workshop for you. Stephen Ministry training is March 3, 9am to 1pm, in Grand Rapids.  Pastor Becca and others will be attending.  Will you?  There is no cost to you and we’ll be carpooling. Join us as we open conversation about how we effectively minster to the sick and homebound among us.
